Displaying Minerals and Fossils:

Collecting minerals and fossils is a popular hobby of collecting, identifying and displaying mineral and fossil specimens. The profession of working with minerals is mineralogy. There are many options for displaying minerals and fossils. One option is an adjustable wire display where you hold the piece from underneath. The wire is bendable and the user bends the wire to custom fit their piece. Another option is easels that have metal arms that are adjustable by moving them side to side. These come in a number of configurations and usually have an acrylic base. Caliper stands are another popular option for displaying minerals and they come in brass or chrome. They have two threaded prongs that tighten in on the piece from opposite ends. This holds the piece floating in the center. Other options are acrylic pronged stands and other types of easels.

Some types of minerals: Amazonite,Tanzanite, Sodalite, Topaz,Talc, Quartz, Amethyst, Agate, Tigers Eye, Barite, Celestite, Selenite, Rhodochrosite, Azurite, Malachite, Calcite, Magnetite, Hematite, Halite, Fluorite, Galena, Stibnite, Pyrite, Apatite, Turquoise, Gold, Copper, Bismuth, Silicon, Opal, amber, and mother of pearl.
